SUREWEST COMMUNICATIONS, Roseville, CA

Following consolidation of multiple subsidiaries, appointed to Product Engineering Manager with full responsibility for researching, developing, project managing, incubating, and launching new products on emerging technologies. Build business case analyses, prepare forecasts, manage and negotiate vendor contracts, and work with cross-functional teams to execute key strategic initiatives.

• Developed and launched numerous new products & features to increase “Triple Play” penetration, including, Web Site Creator, Remote Home Monitor (connected home), Caller ID on TV, Remote DVR, and Three Screen Media Distribution.
• Increased monthly video subscriber additions by 35 percent by initiating and deploying Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV Platform.
• Saved company $10 million in asset impairment by deploying fixed and point-to-point wireless data services.
• Reduced fixed costs by more than $1 million by renegotiating contracts with service providers.

Recruited to head new subsidiary of SureWest Communications, providing broadband Internet access services via DSL, T-1, Ethernet, and Data Center services to the greater Sacramento, California area. Responsible for strategic planning, P&L management, and daily operations of all functions of business.

• Nurtured enterprise from start-up to $13.5 million business venture.
• Grew business to annual profits of $800K within 3 years and subscriber base of more than 21,000.
• Reached financial break-even point within 2 years of inception.

Founder & President 1995 to 1999

RADIKS INTERNET ACCESS, INC., Omaha, NE

Founder of regional ISP and Web site design company, providing DSL, T-1, Frame Relay, ISDN, Data Center services, dial-up Internet access, web hosting, web development, and IP consulting to customers in Nebraska and Iowa.

• Achieved many firsts in the industry, including, first ISP company in Omaha, first company to provide DSL Internet access and first company to stream Real Audio broadcasts over the Internet.
